There are many reasons why children should practice yoga. Yoga is non-competitive and it helps children to better understand their body and mind. Through the use of games, art and stories the class is fun, energising, and helps to develop the imagination. The yoga poses help to improve coordination, strength, balance and flexibility. The movement and mindfulness helps to improve concentration, focus and can be very calming. Also, it creates a nice space to meet new friends and grow friendships.

Children’s Fun Activities & Yoga Camp
What will we do at Camp?
There will be a fantastic mix of fun activities where children can develop their physical, creative and social skills in an encouraging and non-competitive environment. The wide variety of activities will include; fun group games, fun yoga, obstacle courses, nature walks, mindful colouring, arts & crafts, sand castle building, treasure hunts and archery!
When and where?
10am – 1pm on Monday 10th – Friday 14th of July at Skerries Sailing Club
What age group?
7-12 years old
€80 per person (reductions for siblings) book early as places are limited
A little bit about Michael:
I have been a coordinator on many children’s activity camps including; Skerries Community Centre, Camp Abilities Ireland and Irish NGO Development Perspectives Tanzanian Sports Camp! I have a B.Sc (H) in Adapted Physical Activity and I am a fully qualified children’s Yoga Teacher. Currently, I am the Sports Co-ordinator for Prosper Fingal Special Olympics Clubs and over the past few years I have delivered fun activity and well-being sessions in the adolescent ward at St John of God Hospital Dublin.
