Fundraising – Option 1 & 2

  1. Join the Table Quiz at 8pm on Friday 6th April in Joe Mays Pub Skerries
  2. Make a donation and receive your very own small oak tree “Tree of Dreams”!

All proceeds go towards the Special Olympics Ireland Games 2018, where this summer many athletes will be realising their dreams.

For me, the idea behind Acorn Wellbeing was to promote the simple concept of “seed” potential in people to be, do or create their full potential. Each week I coach Special Olympics athletes and I see the positive impact and enjoyment that taking part in sports can have on them. Some of these athletes will be competing at this year’s Ireland Games with the possibility of qualifying for the 2019 World Games in Abu Dhabi. I will be volunteering at the Ireland Games as coach/chaperone for the 4 day event in mid June.

In autumn 2016, I collected a number of acorns from the Pheonix Park and Ardgillan Castle and after much care and attention these acorns have now grown into the small oak trees you can see above. Planting a tree can be a very rewarding experience and one can do so with some life event in mind, dedicating it to a dream that you’d like to bring into fruition. Ideas that come to mind are a new home, career, baby, engagement or perhaps marking the loss of a loved one.
