Beginners Hatha Yoga
Michael has been teaching yoga in Skerries for a number of years. The classes are ideal for those who would like to improve their flexibility, strength, ability to relax and to feel happier. What to expect during a yoga class – you will learn a mixture of dynamic and restorative poses, breathing and relaxation techniques, which encourage the body and mind to relax and unwind. As we are all different each posture can be adapted to suit the individual which makes the class accessible to all. The class is conducted in an encouraging and friendly manner, with a focus on energy and mindfulness and you will very likely leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!

Through practicing the asanas or poses regularly, yoga is an excellent way to stretch your muscles and increase the range of motion in your joints.
Due to the deep, mindful breathing that is necessary for yoga, you can strengthen your lung capacity, as well as your endurance and it can help those who suffer from stress-related issues.
Yoga can help you find a sense of calm that is sometimes missing in our busy day to day life. Using meditation techniques and deep breathing improves focus and clears the mind, which can bring a much-needed sense of calmness.
Poor posture can often be a bad habit that is easy to correct. Through practicing poses you significantly strengthen your core, making it easier to sit or stand tall!
Building toned muscles through holding a pose or using several repetitions, your body is learning to endure exercise for longer periods each time, which improves stamina and strength.

Yoga dates back thousands of years and it’s as relevant today as it was then! You may even argue that it is more relevant today due to our busy lifestyles! Learning should be a lifelong process and learning a skill which has so many health benefits is a very worthwhile investment.

Ardgillan Castle classes are drop in and ongoing for winter – please text or email to book your spot as places are limited. Stay warm and healthy this winter in the cosy castle and enjoy the spectacular surrounds of Ardgillan! The class is a gentle approach to building strength and flexibility and the relaxation at the end will leave you calm and stress free for the weekend!
(Ardgillan drop in rate is €12 and the class is suitable for beginners and improvers)
1 hour class €60 for a course of 6 classes
1 hour 30 minute class €85 for a course of 6 classes
