Yoga for Teaching Staff

Happy-TeacherTeaching can be a very rewarding vocation, however the nature of the teaching environment is often characterised by periods of extreme stress. In addition to normal administrative and teaching duties, difficulties with disruptive pupils and, possibly, disruptive parents can sometimes tip the balance to a point where the level of stress becomes detrimental to health.

If not adequately addressed, periods of short-term stress exposure can build into a chronic stress response. This may manifest as anxiety, tiredness, depression, digestive disorders, mood swings … the list is endless. Ultimately this can affect confidence, teaching skills and long term health.

Your staff will leave our classes feeling restored, energised and more focused to deal with the daily activities at school.  If you are looking to improve the overall health and wellbeing of your staff than why not offer Yoga in your school.

Yoga for sleep

sleep-wellMichael teaches Yoga for Sleep at a Mental Health Hospital in Dublin on a weekly basis. A good nights sleep plays an essential role in our health and wellbeing. Unfortunately these days many people have difficulties sleeping at night for many different reasons. A gentle restorative yoga class at night can prepare the body and mind for rest and a good nights sleep. Performing slow restorative yoga poses while cultivating a slower and deeper breathe can help you drift off into a peaceful slumber.  Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system which encourages the mind and body to unwind and relax.
